The Audi RS 5 DTM Audi Sport used for their 2015 title campaign technically fully conforms to the version internally called ‘RC3’ the company won the 2014 DTM Manufacturers’ Championship with. The body that completely is made of carbon fibre sits on a hybrid-construction chassis weighing just 160 kilos. The Audi RS 5 DTM is powered by a 340kW (460bhp) V8 engine.
Whenever BMW Motorsport contested a DTM season with a new car, it won the title right away. This also applied to the BMW M4 DTM that made its DTM debut in 2014. Just as it is the case on the production car BMW M4 Coupé, the air curtains at the front also reduce the drag of the BMW M4 DTM. Narrowing air ducts accelerate the air streaming through the front skirt and systematically conduct it past the wheels, thus reducing the turbulences in the wheel-house area. In 2015, the successful racer from Munich once again went for it.
The Mercedes-AMG DTM Team contested the 2015 DTM season with eight Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM vehicles. One of the most striking components of the car is the grille that is geared to the ones of the AMG production car. Flat and with high levels of grip, the Lausitzring dares you to go too fast too soon. To set a good lap, you need to be smooth and avoid errors in the infield. Go easy on the high curbs in the first hairpin or your lap will suffer.
Compact, uncompromising and deceptively tricky to master despite the simple layout. As the only street circuit in DTM calendar, Norisring is not for the faint of heart. The walls are close and the frantic breaking for the first hairpin turn can make or break your race.
Zandvoort is an old school race track located in the Netherlands, directly in the dunes near the coast line. The 4.3 km long track offers fast and sweeping corners as well as tight hairpins that provide excellent overtaking opportunities. It’s a real challenge and the drivers love it.
A modern update on the legendary Österreichring, Red Bull Ring is reviving the well-known corners and adding a few new twists to the set of challenges a complete laps offers. Tight corners and heavy braking means good overtaking opportunities
Moscow Raceway is the first Russian circuit built to hold international motorsport events. The track’s long back straight is perfect for high speed slipstreaming and exciting late brake maneuvers. In 2014, DTM moved from the sprint course to the longer Grand Prix layout.
Oschersleben is a tricky and selective track without much in elevation changes, but it’s high on drama. The first corner is a left angle twisting directly into a long 180 degree turn, a certain recipe for close calls and traded paint. The tight chicane needs to be attacked aggressively.
A first class racing track, located right next to the famous Nordschleife but offering a very different challenge. A hairpin first corner gets you started and then the challenges never stop until you hit the back straight. A good track for multiple overtaking chances during a lap.
